Opened in 1936, Papenhausen has been a staple of West Portal almost as long as streetcars. Sold only twice in it's long life, Papenhausen remains a family owned independent hardware store. Over the years our customers have become like family. It is this relationship that drives our dedication to quality in products and customer service.

Times are changing and we are doing our best to keep up. Our stock and store are constantly evolving to match our customer's needs. In addition, we are now offering online shopping and are working on ways to use the web to help our customer's with their projects. Our store may be limited by space, but with in-store special orders and online ordering we are only limited by our imagination.
